Talk – Britain’s V-bomber deterrent during the Cold War

Dr Tony Redding, military historian, will be giving a talk about his latest book “V-bombers – Britain’s nuclear frontline”.

There is a local connection with this talk – Manston was a V-bomber dispersal airfield in the approach to war and bombers laden with over one million tonnes of high explosive equivalent would have been present. In addition, the talk begins with a clip from the long-banned film “The War Game”, featuring a nuclear attack on Medway.
